A Christmas Story

In our home Christmas Morning is when gifts are opened. The children are allowed to open their stockings (to buy Mum and Dad some time) at a specified time and not before. :) In past years we have had to wake Emma up (she is one that needs her sleep)...so we were not prepared for what transpired this year!

Emma does not have a digital clock in her room...she was excited (obviously)...and was awake in the wee hours of the morning. When her Daddy found her it was 4:40 AM and she had opened everything in her stocking and was roaming the house wondering why no one else was up! Apparently she had turned on all the Christmas lights in the house ~ tree and all. She was told it was NOT morning yet and was tucked back into bed. THAT's where we found her...still asleep when the rest of the house was stirring just after 8:00! A great Christmas memory for sure!

This picture of Emma was taken by her big brother Calvin ~ she was thrilled with her victorian doll carriage...the only thing she really wanted. :)

How cute! The older our kids got, the more they slept in on Christmas morning. Now that they are all grown up we wait till afternoon to open presents...I think I am more excited than they are! So many thrifty finds this year, I could hardly wait to see them open them!

What a beautiful Victorian carriage. I miss those years when my girls played dolls/mommy...Enjoy these times when she is young. There are many other blessings when they're old as well. You have a lot to look forward to. Daughters (and sons) are a real blessing.

That is so cute! My kids slept past 8am. I was awake by 5am and was waiting for the kids to wake up so we could get our day started. Love Emma's carriage. So sweet!

Cindy ~ Emma has NEVER been awake before us on Christmas morning...so this was definitely a switch! :) Oh...I can totally relate to the excited about giving part...truly it is "better to give than to receive"! By the looks of your pictures it appears that you have had a fabulous time with your family over the last few days.

Christa ~ Oh...I have waited a long time for these days...and you are right...they are going by much too quickly! Why is it like that??

Jackie ~ It may be next year that the kids will be up by 5 AM and you will be trying to just sleep a little bit longer! :) Enjoy it while it lasts.

The carriage has been pushed around the house constantly since yesterday morning ~ Emma saw it in the "Sears" catalogue a few months ago...so easy for me...I just ordered it on the phone and in a few weeks it was ready for pick up. It really is pretty...and was within the budget...it was so much fun to see her reaction when she opened it.

Have a wonderful Lord's Day tomorrow ~ each of you!

Love,
Camille

So pretty! My daughter would flip over something like that! Where did you find that?

Camille said...

Thanks Mavis ~ ENJOY is an understatement! :)

Stacie ~ I ordered it from the Canadian SEARS "Christmas Wish Book"...perhaps you can find it online...or something similar?

Camille

So funny! What a precious story :)
You'll have to tell your husband that MY husband says, "Once a Leaf Fan, ALWAYS a Leaf Fan--no matter where you roam!" ha ha! We have friends who moved there as well and are still die-hard fans! Too funny. Do I really care? Oh the life of a hockey wife... :)
Thanks for dropping by again. Sounds like your Christmas was sweet.
God bless you and your family,
Heather

American Home ~ So sweet of you to stop by! :)

Heather ~ LOL!! Yup...it took my husband about ten years to make the switch...he was 13 years old when he moved here. Maybe it's the age...he was still malleable ~ do you think that could be it?? :)Oh yes..."the life of a hockey wife"...indeed!!

Have a wonderful week!
Blessings,
Camille

I can relate to your Christmas morning story!! We woke up at around 8:30 to find the girls both fast asleep in the living room!! I asked Mckenna why, "Because I wanted it to be light and it was dark in my bedroom." I hope you and your family had blessed Christmas and we hope you have a blessed New Year also.
God bless,
Brenda and family!!
